Before the tour

How can I reach the boat departure point Çamlı Village pier? What are the options by private car and public transport?

Çamlı Village pier is approximately 20 km from the centre of Marmaris. You can easily reach it with your own car, free car parking is available. It is also possible to reach by minibus or taxi from Marmaris centre. If you have not taken a transfer service, it is important to be there at least 15 minutes before the departure time.

How do weather conditions affect the boat tour? Are there cancellations or postponements?

Sea conditions and weather are very important for safety. If there is a storm, heavy rain or high waves, the tour may be cancelled or postponed. In such cases, guests will be informed and an alternative day will be offered. It is useful to check the weather forecast again on the morning of the tour day.

Will I get detailed information about the historical ruins on Sedir Island and Cleopatra Beach?

Yes, Turkish, English and Russian guide service is provided throughout the tour. Detailed information about why the sand of Cleopatra Beach is special, the ruins and history of the ancient city will be given by the guide.

For which age group are there safety measures on board? Especially for children and the elderly?

Life jackets are provided for each guest. Special life jackets are available for children. Special facilities are provided for elderly and pregnant passengers. In addition, disabled passengers are allowed to be accompanied.

What is the organisation for communication and emergencies during the tour?

You are in constant communication with the boat crew and guides. There is also first aid equipment and experienced staff on board. Necessary communication tools and procedures are available on board for emergencies.

Are there alternatives on the lunch menu? How are vegetarian or special diets catered for?

Lunch is served as a standard menu, but if you have vegetarian, vegan or special dietary needs, a special menu will be prepared for you if you inform before the tour.

Are there activities or areas suitable for children on board?

There are no special activities for children on board, but the shaded seating areas downstairs and the large sunbathing area upstairs are suitable for children. During swimming breaks, children can spend time comfortably on the beach or in the bays.

What are the differences between the upper and lower deck? What should I pay attention to when choosing?

Downstairs there is a shaded area, bar, toilet, shower and changing cabins. On the upper floor, there are sunbathing beds and the music broadcast is more intense. In hot weather, the lower floor can be preferred, sun lovers can choose the upper floor.

How long is the boat trip and what time will we be at sea?

The tour lasts approximately 6,5 hours in total. The boat departs at 10:00 and returns at 16:30. During this time, there are breaks for swimming, visiting historical sites and eating at four different stops.

Can you buy photos taken on a boat trip? Is there professional shooting?

On some tours, souvenir photos are taken by the guide or the team and can be purchased upon request. It is useful to ask the tour organiser in advance.

What are your suggestions for suitable clothing and equipment for the tour?

Light and comfortable clothes, sea shoes, swimwear, sunscreen and a hat are recommended. It will be suitable for those who want to bring a snorkel and mask.

Does the tour have special access for disabled guests?

Yes, pregnant women and disabled guests with an accompanying person can join our tour. Our boat and tour team provide the necessary facilities.

Is there an area where I can charge my mobile phone or electronic devices during the boat tour?

There is no special area on board for charging phones or electronic devices. Battery status should be checked before the tour.

What are the rules regarding alcohol consumption during the tour?

Alcohol consumption is controlled throughout the tour. Local and foreign alcoholic drinks are available on the boat for a fee. Excessive alcohol use is restricted for safety reasons.

What is the total duration of the tour? Is there a transfer to the hotels after the tour?

Tour duration is approximately 6.5 hours (09:45-16:30). For guests with transfers, a shuttle service is provided to Marmaris hotels at the end of the tour.

Why is the sand of Cleopatra Beach so special and protected?

The sand of Sedir Island consists of special minerals found only around Egypt and its structure is very rare. For this reason, it is under protection in order not to spoil the natural structure and sand intake is prohibited on the beach.

Which are the most remarkable structures among the ruins of the ancient city?

The Temple of Apollo, the agora, the theatre and the ruins of the ancient harbour are the most remarkable structures. The temple is particularly well preserved and Cleopatra is rumoured to have visited it.

How clean and convenient are the bar and toilets on board?

The toilets on the boat are cleaned regularly and comply with hygiene standards. The bar service is active all day long and offers a variety of beverage options.

Where are the safe areas to go to the sea? Is it suitable for children?

Cleopatra Beach and Incekum Beach are suitable for swimming and have shallow and calm waters. It is safe for children and non-swimmers but supervision is always recommended.

What are the characteristics of Navy Blue Bay for snorkelling?

Navy Blue Bay is an ideal spot for snorkelling with its clear water and rich underwater life. The depth varies between 10-50 metres, so you should consider your swimming level.

Can we ask questions while the guide is giving information during the boat tour?

Yes, the guide is open to answer your questions throughout the tour. You can easily ask your questions about both historical information and tour organisation.

Is lunch at Zeytinli Bay served on the boat?

Yes, lunch is served on the boat. The menu includes chicken schnitzel, pasta with sauce, salad and bread. Drinks are free of charge.

How are the cafeteria and shopping facilities on the island? Are the prices reasonable?

There are several small cafeterias on the island. Drinks and snacks are available, prices are moderate compared to tourist places.

Is it compulsory to use a life jacket during swimming breaks?

The use of a lifejacket is not compulsory but is strongly recommended for your safety. Especially for non-swimmers, a lifejacket is a must.

Is the boat crew ready to help? Is support provided, especially in swimming?

Yes, there are experienced staff on board. If you need help with swimming, they will provide support immediately.

Is it allowed to take photos during the tour?

Yes, you can take as many photos as you wish during the tour. However, care must be taken not to disturb other guests.

How can we protect our belongings while swimming in the sea?

It is safe to leave your belongings on the boat during swimming breaks, but it is better not to bring valuables with you. You can use a waterproof bag.

How comfortable are the sunbathing areas on board? Are there enough umbrellas?

There are 130 sunbathing beds on the upper floor, but the number of umbrellas is limited. Shaded area is available on the lower floor. Sun cream is recommended.

Why is it forbidden to lay a towel and sit on Cleopatra Beach on Sedir Island?

Because the sands of Cleopatra Beach are under special protection. These sands are natural formations found only around Egypt and moved to the island over time. It is forbidden to carry this special sand with towels, slippers or bags, so you can only sit in designated areas.

How is music broadcast on the boat? Is the noise disturbing?

On the upper deck, music is broadcast at medium level for an energetic atmosphere. The lower deck is ideal for those who want a more calm and peaceful environment.

After The Tour

What are the return time and hours to Marmaris hotels for those who have a transfer service?

You leave the boat at 16:30 at the end of the tour, transfer vehicles leave the hotels around 17:40. There may be a small change according to the traffic situation.

Do you have other places to visit or suggestions after the tour?

Old bazaar, marina and coastal walks are recommended in Marmaris. Marmaris Castle and the surrounding natural parks can also be visited.

After getting off the boat at the end of the tour, where would you recommend for shopping or eating in the area?

You can buy local products and souvenirs in Çamlı Village and Marmaris, and try fresh seafood in seaside restaurants.

If I used a museum card, can I enter Sedir Island for free in the same year again?

Yes, with a valid Müzekart, the person with the same card is entitled to free entry for one year. However, a second entry on the same day is not granted.

Can I get a discount if I rebook after the tour?

Some companies offer discounts to repeat guests. It would be useful to ask the agency you booked with if there is an early booking discount or campaign for the second tour.

I would like to share my photos, does the tour company have social media accounts?

Yes, most tour companies are active on social media. Instagram or Facebook addresses are included in the brochure or website given before the tour. By tagging, you can both share and access the photos of other participants.

During the tour there was a bay that I liked very much, how can I go there again?

The bays visited on the boat tour are usually marked on the map. Apart from Sedir Island, you can revisit places such as İncekum Beach or Lacivert Bay with your own vehicle or by renting a private boat for a day.

I want to shoot with a drone, is it allowed in this area?

Since Sedir Island is a protected area, the use of drones is generally subject to permission. Flying a drone during the tour may be restricted as it may disturb other guests. For detailed information, you can check the Coast Guard or Muğla Governorship websites.

What else can I do in the area after the boat trip?

After the Sedir Island tour, you can take a walk by the Azmak River in Akyaka, rent a canoe or taste the local flavours. You can also consider watching the sunset view in the Gulf of Gökova.

Would such tours for children be recommended again?

Yes, especially for children who know how to swim, it is very educational and enjoyable for them to meet the sea. However, they should definitely wear a life jacket and be kept under constant observation.

Were the archaeological sites on the island open to visitors?

Yes, ancient theatre, agora ruins and some wall structures can be seen on Sedir Island. It is open to visitors, but it is forbidden to touch, climb on or damage certain areas. These areas are strictly protected as they are 1st degree protected areas.

Why didn't I see a lifeguard when I went into the sea, is it safe?

There is no lifeguard service on Sedir Island. For this reason, it is very important to rely on your swimming knowledge and not to leave children alone. The boat captain and staff usually look after safety, but there is no official lifeguard.

Is it possible to camp on Sedir Island?

No camping is allowed. Since Sedir Island is a protected area, it is strictly forbidden to camp, stay overnight, light a fire and pitch a tent. You can only visit the island during daylight hours.

On the way back I wanted to take a shower on the boat but there was a queue, does this always happen?

Yes, there may be queues, especially on crowded tours, as shower space is limited. Boat showers are usually for short rinses. For long and personal cleaning, it is recommended to take a shower at your accommodation after the tour.

Why did the boat take a different route on the way back?

Due to factors such as wind, current or density at sea, captains may prefer a different route for safety reasons. This is normal and usually done for safety.
